She always said you have to give 100% of yourself to anything you care about to make it work.
You have to give 100% in relationships and friendships.
You have to put 100% into reaching your dreams and goals.
You have to put 100% into whatever work you do. Even if the work is something you would rather not be doing, put in 100% anyway because its not really about what you are doing. Its about what kind of person you are letting yourself be.
She said you have to love people 100%. Love them for who they are and who they are not. Love them because they are different, love them because they need it, love them because you need it. Love them even if it hurts sometimes.
I jokingly mentioned one time that “that’s a lot of 100%’s” she replied with “Yeah, people are made up of a lot.”
She was one of the few people in my life that always believed in me 100%. Even when I was in bad places in my past she always was able to see through that and into the core of who I am. She didn’t hesitate to tell me if I was full of shit, she didn’t hold back. She had a way of phrasing things that made them matter. She knew how to get through.
You had an integral part in shaping who I am Gramma, and it wasn’t just me. So many lives were touched by who you were. You changed the world in small but amazing ways, and added to our future by shaping our past.
You will be missed.
